Welcome to the Players ...

... the resident not-for-profit community theatre group at The Maureen Stapleton Theatre on the campus of Hudson Valley Community College.  This will be the Player's 9th season, which July 2001, providing quality popular entertainment in the Capital District area.

We produce at five plays a year.  Our works appeal to all theatrical tastes and include comedy, drama, original works, and musicals.  Besides entertaining our audiences, we provide opportunities for area actors, and production staff (lighting, sound technicians, stage crew, production, etc.).  Volunteers are always welcomed.

As a not-for-profit group The Players operate entirely on ticket revenues and private donations.  Monies are used to cover the costs of producing our shows and for technical improvements.

The Maureen Stapleton Theatre is handicapped accessible.
 

Where are we?

The Maureen Stapleton Theatre is located on the campus of Hudson Valley Community College, on Route 4, in Troy, New York, just one mile from Exit 7E of  Interstate 787.


From Exit 7E of I-787 (Menands Bridge exit), proceed east on Route 378 across the bridge.  Turn right on to Route 4 South and continue 1 mile to the Hudson Valley campus (on the left), turn left onto the campus at the traffic light (opposite the Burger King Restaurant).  This is the North Road entrance of the campus.  The theatre is in the Siek Campus Center which is the second building on the right side of North Road and is adjacent to Parking Lot 'B'.  Follow the signs pointing to the Siek Campus Center, extra signs for the theatre should be in place on performance nights.
